What the work looks like.

These are real projects for real distributors. The clients are not named, because the details of how a distributor operates are theirs to share, not mine. What I can share is the problem, what I built, and what changed.

A cash-flow-critical billing process that no longer depends on one person.

A wholesale distributor's third-party billing ran on a process more than a decade old. The people who built it were long gone. The bank had retired the file protocol for everyone else and kept it alive for this one customer. A single subject matter expert kept it accurate, and a failed transmission could delay millions of dollars in payments. I built an application that pulls billing data from Prophet 21, applies the business rules of both the distributor and the billing partner, and tells the operator exactly what is wrong before anything is sent. It went live in about four weeks. A primary operator and several trained backups now run it.

Knowing what sells at every customer across seven states.

A wholesale distributor wanted to help its customers stock what actually moves. Many of those customers have no system that tracks aging or seasonal sellers. Area managers tried counting inventory by hand, which was slow and produced nothing the business could add up. I built a scanning app for Zebra handheld scanners where one scan of a serial number identifies the item from sales history. A custom sync gives managers what they need in the field with no VPN, and the P21 database is never exposed to the internet. A web portal turns repeated counts into what the distributor wanted all along: what sold, when, and how long it sat. It was deployable in about two months and is still being extended.

Customers who do not run out, and orders nobody re-keys.

A multi-state wholesale distributor sells consumable products its customers cannot afford to be without. I designed and built a system where customers set minimum and maximum levels, scan items out as they use them, and see exactly what to order to get back to target. Orders flow into Prophet 21 through its standard API and import processes with minimal handling, which removed the keystroke errors along with the labor. It later grew to include access-controlled cabinets. It shipped as desktop, web, and mobile apps, about four to five months from concept to first deployment.
